comma splice

A comma splice is when two independent clauses are joined together with only a comma and not an appropriate conjunction.

Example: INCORRECT: I love studying with Magoosh, it’s my favorite hobby. CORRECT: I love studying with Magoosh, for it’s my favorite hobby.
