ACT style questions will test whether you can identify the clearest option for a particular phrase. In general, putting the subject before the verb, putting related modifiers next to each other, and eliminating wordiness results in the clearest phrasing.
Example: LESS CLEAR: In 1983, the Lisa computer, the first personal computer, being one with a graphical user interface, was released by Apple in the same year I was born. MORE CLEAR: In 1983, the same year I was born, Apple released its Lisa computer, the first personal computer with a graphical user interface.
