apostrophes

Apostrophes are used to indicate possession (for example, “the girl’s book”) and to create contractions (will not --> won’t).

Important to remember! For singular nouns, the apostrophe comes before the “s” and for plural nouns, the apostrophe comes after the “s”. Examples: The professor's lecture (one professor). The professors' lecture (more than one professor).
