percent increase and decrease

To calculate percent increase or decrease, find the difference between the two numbers you are comparing, then divide the result by the original number and multiply by 100. Percent Increase = (New Number - Original Number)/Original Number x 100. Percent Decrease = (Original Number - New Number)/Original Number × 100.
